INP INNOV' Price
This year Toulouse INP honours the 4 best research projects, particularly symbolic in 2018.
Chaire AXA - GLObal changing mountain Ecosystems: Dirk SCHMELLER
Project Functional Montain Ecology
The team's research focuses on studying the relationship between biodiversity and function of inland and coastal aquatic environments. This research shows the growing concern in society to stop biodiversity loss.
The team is developing fundamental research to understand how biodiversity and the complexity of food webs regulate flows in the ecosystem.
Emerging Technology: Yohan DAVIT
BEBOP Project
The objective of the BEBOP project is to determine if bacteria can be used to precisely control the properties of porous matrices. The idea is to move towards the development of a new generation of materials, such as self-healing building materials or self-cleaning bioreactors, which are able to adapt to their environment and which can be controlled.
Transfer of Technology: Michel MEYER and Séverine CAMY
The STPI department received the "Transfer of Technology" price awarded by Toulouse Tech Transfer. This department is rewarded for its numerous actions of valorisation and transfer of technologies.
International: David GROSSIN
Project Doc 3D-printing
The goal is to work on the entire value chain of ceramic 3D printing, from the development of the raw material to product testing for commercialisation.
High performance ceramics are already widely used in advanced engineering because of their low density, exceptional mechanical strength, and excellent resistance to heat, erosion and wear for applications in the aerospace and medical sectors.
The 4-year project is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the agreement of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.
Léopold Escande Price 2018
Each year, the Toulouse INP research commission rewards the Leopold Escande price to 15% of the best PhD Theses defended. In 2018, 24 PhD students have been rewarded for the scientific excellence of their work, the originality of their thesis subject and implemented approaches, risk-taking and international influence.
